"Next game on the way! Dirty Pictures!"

This page is about the segment on Crashbox. For the online game of the same name, see Dirty Pictures (online game).

Dirty Pictures is a history-based "guess who" game seen on Crashbox.

Synopsis[]

The game takes place at an art museum closed for cleaning. A maid will periodically dust off parts of a portrait of a pop culture figure as a wooden security guard, known as the "Old Fossil", will hold up cue cards in between with other clues, muttering them. Eventually, part of the nameplate is revealed, providing extra evidence. And shortly after, the entire picture is clean.

Trivia[]

  • 9 segments were produced for Season 1, 5 of which were repeated for Season 2A. 5 segments were produced for Season 2B, making 19 appearances and 14 segments in total.
  • This game has the same number of segments as Think Tank, which ironically debuted in the same episode as this game.
  • This game shares a similar theme with Haunted House Party, as both games revolve around historic figures, although Dirty Pictures focuses more on pop-culture and modern public figures (for the time).
  • Dirty Pictures is used interchangeably with Haunted House Party; If one game is played in an episode, then the other will not be played.
    • Likely due to the similar History theme, both segments have never appeared in the same episode.
    • Crashbox 3, 6, 12, 16, and 19 are the only episodes where neither game is featured.
      • This means, there are also no episodes in Season 2 that feature neither game.
  • The "Next Game on the Way!" cue associated with this game is occasionally used in factory segments.
  • This game is the only game on Crashbox with no dialogue, although the characters do make noises at times.
  • As mentioned earlier, there is an online game based on this on the HBO family website.
  • The music in this segment is Dixie Doodle 60 by Harry Gold.
  • The game's title is an obvious reference to "dirty pictures", as in sexually suggestive ones.
