Summary[]
George and Wilde play tetherball, until the ball ties Wilde up to the pole. Martha then comes out with some lemonade and they drink it, including Wilde after George helps him get free. Oscar and Wilde marvel at how good the lemonade tastes, because George says that they used their "secret ingredient", giving away that it is friendship. Wilde mentions that they should go to the lemonade business, but Martha wonders if it will sell. Though George agrees on it, and says it can be "George and Martha's Lemonade Stand", although, Martha banks on "Martha and George's Lemonade Stand". Nevertheless, they then decide on "The Best Friends' Lemonade Stand".
George and Martha build their stand and set it up, also creating a big supply of lemonade. Duke and Anton then arrive after playing basketball, so George and Martha offer them both lemonade which they both find amazing. By the end of the day, they serve the last glass to a camel. George grabs the jar of money and goes to the store with them, but Martha tells him that he has to help clean up. George tells her to do it herself as it's just a few "lemon peels", and claims he'll close up shop tomorrow.
Tomorrow comes, and George comes to Martha's house, but she doesn't answer as she's still sleeping. George has to go to the stand himself, where there's already a big hot line. Martha finally wakes up, and George scolds her. Martha is shocked that George bought a new lemon yellow tie with the money, and then they argue about who gets the lemons as George got them yesterday. George decides that he has no choice but to get the lemons himself again. The two finally start serving again, but Martha is still angry. A seal complains that she ordered a diet lemonade, so Martha dumps it and gives her an empty cup. Duke questions what happened to service with a smile. George is thirsty and drinks the lemonade, and Martha scolds him for drinking up the profits.
They start arguing again when Bud and Valerie arrive, and they serve the two lemonade, but they spit it out claiming it awful, and even Ivan hates it. Oscar and Wilde then come, and they also are disgusted by it. Oscar is sure that it is missing the secret ingredient: friendship. Nevertheless, they go with Bud and Valerie who agree to get root beer instead. The day passes and not a single customer comes, so at the end of the day Martha quits, and so does George. The next day, George gives Martha flowers, buying it with his share of the profits. Martha admits that they are better off as friends than business partners, and serves them both lemonade, which has the secret ingredient once more.
