Stand by for Lens McCracken!

Lens McCracken is a mystery-solving picture-zoom puzzle segment seen on Crashbox.

Synopsis[]

Photographer Lens McCracken (voiced by S. Scott Bullock) will present a case and show three pictures taken during the event. However, Lens is both incompetent and near-sighted, and his camera's lens is broken, resulting in his photos being zoomed in much too close. The goal is to guess the 3 items in the pictures. Lens will give subtle hints as he shows you the pictures.

Eventually, Lens will put the photos into a photo-enhancing machine called The Solutionator, which will produce a non-zoomed image of the item.

Afterwards, Lens will describe an absurd description of the case involving the three items.

Trivia[]

  • 12 segments were produced for Season 1, 4 of which being reused for Season 2A, making 16 appearances in total.
  • This is the only game segment to be featured in Season 2A, but not in 2B.
  • While the segment uses 2D cels and Live-Action photos, it is edited completely digitally.
  • In all of Lens McCracken's appearances in Season 2, it is played with Mugshots.
  • Lens McCracken is one of the only two non-rewind games (the other being Radio Scramble) to be the first game played in any episodes. It was the first game played in Episodes 7 and 8.
  • This means that it is similar to Think Tank and Captain Bones, as each game was the first game played in two consecutive episodes.
  • While the segments are mostly rendered in 30fps, segments 3, 5, and 12 were all (partially) rendered in 60fps.
    • In "The Case of the Cracked Teapot Case!" and "The Case of the Terrible Tasting Pizza!", the frame rate changes to 60fps when the first photo clue flies out of the Solutionator, while in "The Case of the Missing Chihuahua that... Went Missing.", the frame rate changes to 60fps when the first photo clue is shown.
      • In all of these segments, the frame rate goes back to 30fps when Lens McCracken is about to tell the story of the cases.
  • Len's line, "Can you feel the excitement?! Neither can I." is used in both Segments 10 and 11.
  • Crashbox 15 reveals that Lens McCracken believes the Chia Pet is the world's greatest invention.
  • The music used for this game include:
    • "The Fast Machine" by David Lindup / "Thunderbird" by Johnny Pearson (Intro)
    • "View Point" / "Chic Boutique" by Alan Hawkshaw (Investigation)
    • "Secret Service" by Syd Dale (Ending)
      • The music in this segment was also used in SpongeBob SquarePants and a Noggin bumper.
  • The segment shares a similar theme with another Crashbox segment, Mugshots, with both segments revolving around detectives solving cases.
