Martha's Cousin is the 38th episode of the series George and Martha that aired on March 12, 2000. It's sister episode is The Flying Donut.
Summary[]
George sits at the table putting together a fruit bowl puzzle. Martha enters with the mail, containing her first issue of Happy Hippo Magazine. George says he got his puzzle piece, which is misplaced, so Martha places it in the right part. Martha then opens a letter that says her cousin Mimi is coming, also showing George a picture of them together when they were young. Mimi arrives at the house. She introduces George, who claims he is as "strong as an ox", so Mimi tells him to bring in her luggage.
George struggles outside, but manages to throw everything inside. Martha tells him to put everything into her bedroom, although Mimi says it's fine, but Martha insists he takes them to the bedroom. George then drops all the suitcases, which opens all of Mimi's jewelry and candy bars. George then spreads cream cheese on raisin toast bread in the kitchen. Martha says that it was her and Mimi's favorite snack, and takes his plate. Mimi eats it, and she jokes that the bread was too burnt. She attempts to clear the table but George tells her that he and Martha were putting a puzzle there, something that she finds hard to believe as she thought Martha didn't like doing boring puzzles.
George says that he and Martha like going for walks, but Mimi states "walks are for turtles", and asks if they would like to drive in her snazzy car. Martha finds this exciting, but George isn't. She tells Martha that she can drive her car whenever she likes, then drive off after comically getting George's name wrong. While driving, George's hat blows off his head, so they stop after he tries to shout at Mimi. Mimi isn't too worried about the hat, and tells him that they can shop for a new one, which they do.
After they exit the hat shop, the trio go into the photo booth next door. Unfortunately, all three are extremely huge hippos so they all have trouble fitting in, and eventually the photo booth tips over. Later, George and Mimi show Martha their photos, but Martha is feeling a bit low. Mimi wants to dance, but George wants Martha to do the puzzle instead. She tells them to work it out and leaves. They both go to the swing set where she's at, and she tells them that despite George being her best friend and Mimi being her old friend, she still likes both. George then wants to get ice cream but Mimi then wants to go bowling. They then decide to let Martha choose, and they play jump rope and ride bikes together. Mimi finally leaves, and George says that he might miss Mimi. They start coming up with joke names for each other after Mimi had been doing so, like "Georgie Peorgie" and "Martha Wartha".
