Pool Shark is the 45th episode of the series Rainbow Fish that aired on June 10, 2000. It's sister episode is Halloween Under H2O.
Synopsis[]
Rainbow and his friends swim to Wanda's, where they spot a new pool table. A crowd of fish swim over to it and Rainbow does a pool trick, and Slick, Chomper's cousin, says it wasn't bad, and challenges him to a game, where the loser pays the winner a Kelp Gusher. Slick does a trick and wins the game, so Rainbow swims up to buy a Kelp Gusher. Sea Filly calls him a show off, and Blue says that pool isn't even a real sport.
After school, Sea Filly invites Rainbow to go to the movies, but Rainbow, wearing glasses and a hat sold to him by Slick, is going to play a game with said friend. Slick shows him another trick with "edge", with Rainbow missing the ball when trying to hit a ball. Sea Filly and Blue come in talking about the movie, but Slick tries to shoo them off. The two agree to play in, and Slick ends up winning the game, causing the three to buy him more Kelp Gushers. Blue insists he cheated, but Rainbow says they're just jealous. The two swim off and talk about him and the pool shark, and Crab Cakes overhears this and decides to go try a game out himself, leaving Bisque behind and their game of chess.
Cakes challenges Slick a pool game, and he is as good as he stated, much to the dismay of Slick, who blames Rainbow for not sharpening his stick and asks to pick up his polisher, but while he dives down to get it, Slick switches the balls around and wins the game. Cakes gives Wanda a dollar, and leaves. Rainbow comes to the conclusion that he does cheat, but Wanda states she has to catch him in the act in order to qualify that he's officially cheating. Slick decides to stay in Neptune Bay, and tells Rainbow that he didn't see or have any proof of him cheating.
Rainbow challenges him to another game. When Rainbow keeps beating him and hitting the balls into the holes, Slick tries to switch the white balls, but Wanda catches him right at the moment. The ball he was switching out turns to be an egg with a fish inside, who swims off. Wanda kicks him out and says that Kelp Gushers are now on the house, in honor of Rainbow. Rainbow realizes that he turned his back away from his real friends for the cheater, but they forgive him. Rainbow throws his glasses and hat into the trash.
