*Sniffs* Uh... Revolting Slob!

Revolting Slob is a vocabulary game seen on Crashbox.

Synopsis[]

Framed like a documentary, a (typically) polite woman (Voiced by Edie McClurg) narrates and showcases the daily lifestyle of the Revolting Slob (voiced by Micheal McShane). The titular slob is a fat and lazy puppet, who spends his days sitting in his messy house or browsing the kitchen. In each episode, the Slob will either do a disgusting act, such as eating packing peanuts or cleaning his ears with a fork, or simply doing something strange, like reciting a poem in his sleep, or something as simple as thinking, which the woman is quick to comment on. She typically follows the slob's antics by asking a three-choice question of what word best describes the situation. This process is repeated a total of three times. After the three questions are answered, the narrator will do a recap of the correct words and define one of the incorrect words in the last question. This word will be related to disappearing or destruction in some way (usually involving an explosion), which results in the Slob disappearing in a cloud of smoke. At the end of the segment, the narrator states that "(Not to worry.) No Slobs (along with cats, flies, parakeets, or skunks) (contagious or otherwise) were harmed/hurt in/during the filming of this show".

Trivia[]

  • Nine segments were produced for Season 1, all of which were repeated for Season 2A. Eight more segments were produced for Season 2B, making 26 appearances and 17 segments in total.
    • This is the one of two games to have all of its segments repeated for Season 2A.
  • In Season 1, Revolting Slob is used interchangeably with both Distraction News and Mugshots (respectively); If one game is played in an episode, then the other will not be played.
    • Crashbox 10 and 24 are the only episodes where none of the aforementioned games are featured.
    • Crashbox 28 is the first episode where all of the aforementioned games are featured in the same episode (Crashbox 44 and 50 also features all three games). It is also the first episode where either Mugshots or Distraction News are featured in the same episode as Revolting Slob.
  • In Seasons 1 and 2A, The Slob is grumpy and gluttonous, wears the same stomach-showing outfit every day and the game takes place in his living room. In Season 2B, he is cheerful and eccentric, has a new outfit within each segment and the game takes place in his kitchen.
  • The music used for the game includes:
    • A rendition of Franz Schubert's "Scherzo" by Gerhard Kanzian and Ed Lewis (used for the game's theme). It was also used in a Dorito's commercial.
    • Funky Beat by Jean-Pierre Fabien (used for the song that the Revolting Slob dances to in segment 15)
  • Understandably, this game is rather infamous, due to most children being afraid of the Slob's appearance.
