The Bob Show (also titled as Bob the Ball), is the eighteenth episode of the first season in the series A Little Curious, and the eighteenth in total. It aired on May 31, 1999. It is a compilation episode featuring various segments starring Bob, with narration done by Doris and in some intervals between segments, clips from Bob Bounces Back is played with voice-overs from aforementioned character.
Segments[]
Sticky Stuck (Cel)[]
Doris is on a hill trying to open herself, and Bob comes over to ask what's wrong. She says she's stuck, and Bob says she's sticky, but Doris sings that she's not sticky and is just stuck. The two dance and sing around, and then Bob finally comes up with a way to get her unstuck, so he bounces back and goes flying to her, but he misses as she opens herself at the right moment. Doris says "Gotta love that kid!"
Echo Below (Cel)[]
Bob hops high above a mountain, where he constantly says "Hello!" and hearing his echo. The camera zooms out at the many tall, tall, mountains and the valley. Bob says "Hello, below?", and his echo replies with "Hello, above?", which gives him a surprised face.
Rough Sailing (Cel)[]
Little Cup is "sailing" across the water in the bathtub, with rough waves being created by Bob jumping around. Then he stops jumping and blows him, which makes him sail smoothly.
Thick Fog (Stop Motion)[]
In a very foggy and misty waterway, Bob is floating in water with a bell over him, acting like a buoy. Little Cup comes floating by with a captain's hat on and on a raft.
Bubble Bath (Stop Motion)[]
Bob is seen floating in a bath when all of a sudden, he farts, causing a bunch of bubbles to burst behind him, which causes the toys around him to float away. He looks around and laughs at the camera.
Bubble Love (Live Action/CGI blend)[]
Bob blows a bubble which causes him to follow it all around a live action environment, such as streams, fields, and a playground. Eventually, it pops, which makes Bob feel sad, until another bubble comes floating by that he chases again.
Rough Day (CGI)[]
Bob sees a soccer ball scoring into a net, so he tries to do it but misses. Then a basketball scores into a net, but he can't reach the net. He meets up with Doris and Mop and explains everything that went wrong, and Doris tells him that he's having a rough day. Bob tells them that he didn't go over anything rough, but Mop corrects him that it means that nothing is going right. So the two sing a song to explain what a rough day means. In the end, Bob leaves to go have a "smooth day".
Into Thin Air (CGI)[]
Bob, as a magician onstage, tells Little Cup he'll make him vanish into thin air, which causes him to worry, but Bob says it's just a trick and that's just what magicians say. After fearing again, Little Cup goes into Bob's box, and with one twist of the wand, Little Cup isn't under the box anymore. He comes back from under Bob's hat.
Undercover Cup (CGI)[]
Bob is on a kitchen counter with a cowboy hat on, introducing himself and then introduces Little Cup as "Undercover Cup" who is wearing large sunglasses. The two are on a undercover mission to find hidden cookies. Bob hops up to a bowl that is filled with fruits, and when Cup jumps into it he loudly goes "Ewwwww!", but Bob reminds him that they have to be quiet because they're undercover. Then they check the bread box, with also nothing inside. Bob is suddenly heard inside a jar saying that he found the cookies, winking with chocolate all over his face.
Open and Shut Case (CGI)[]
Mr. String is sleeping, when the alarm clock beside him starts to ring, and it falls into the chest below and it closes. Mr. String begs for the ringing to stop, as he is getting rings in his eyes. Suddenly, Bob and Undercover Cup come into the room on the trail to find the ring. Undercover Cup finds a ring, but it's a ring of water, then they find a ring in the bathtub. Eventually, they find the alarm clock ring inside the chest and turn it off. Mr. String thanks them, but then he worries that he'll oversleep for days and everyone will look for him, and ring his doorbell and the phone. Cup and Bob walk off the scene.
Sidekick (CGI)[]
Little Cup and Bob are on the playground playing cowboys, Bob tells him he'll be his sidekick, but Little Cup worries he'll kick his side. Bob explains a sidekick is just a faithful companion and at the heroes side. The two hop around, but Little Cup turns around and hops home because he still doesn't want his side kicked. Bob says he'll never kick his best friend and then decides that he'll be the sidekick and Cup can be the hero. He changes his mind about going home and the two walk off into the sunset.
Bob on a Roll (CGI)[]
Bob rolls around in a savanna going with what the singer is singing, and he eventually meets Plush. The two also meet Mr. String in a cowboy hat, and then the three herd the cow-skinned balls.
The Back of the Book (CGI)[]
Bob wants Mop to read him a story, so she reads him "The Princess Goes to the Ball". She begins to read it, but then Bob interrupts and wants to look at the front of the book. So she shows him it and then she gets back to the story, but then Bob wants to see the back, so Mop shows him it as well. Bob says that's his favorite part, and so does Mop.
Covered with Kisses (Stop Motion)[]
Bob is sitting with a boo boo in Mop's room, so she dresses up as a nurse to give him first aid. Mop kisses him and gives him a bandage, but it still doesn't make him feel better. So she gives him another kiss and a bandage, but it still doesn't work, so Mop kisses him all around and covers him with bandages, which makes Bob laugh and feel better again.
Good Night, Bob (Stop Motion)[]
Doris sings a song in the nighttime sky while Bob is shown sleeping.
Trivia[]
- This is the first of the three "character shows".
- As stated before, instead of Bob (the main character) announcing the subjects and titles of each segment of each episode, Doris, in this episode, announces them, with this being the only episode where this occurs.
- This episode is the first "character show" episode of the A Little Curious series; Mop and Plush would later receive their own respective episodes.
- The shorts "Ring Ring, Go Away" and "Moonlight Near to Me" are renamed to "Open and Shut Case" and "Good Night, Bob" respectively.
- This is the only “character show” episode to not be removed from reruns.
