The Great Escape is the 155th episode of the series The Little Lulu Show that aired on February 21, 1999. It's sister episodes are You Do the Math and The Little Lola Show.
Synopsis[]
The school hockey team is on the ice and getting ready to practice for their game with the Maplewood Marauders. However, most of the shots they take aren't good at all, as Annie slips, and another hockey stick gets flown up in the air and also spins, cutting a top of a tree down. Arlen comes by though, and is unarguably the greatest player on team, as he passes the puck and makes the goal perfectly.
Later on in class, Tubby brings in a donut box, which in reality has a stink bomb inside, to prank the Marauders. Iggy sees him holding it and tries to take it, but they drop it and run off. Arlen picks the box up, but Miss Feeny catches him, and he gets detention after school. While the gang blamed Tubby for what he did and learns they will lose the game, Tubby revealed that he made a bet with the Marauders that the losing team would treat the winners to pizza (which he thought they would win because of Arlen in their team), and hearing that The team has to get him out or else they will lose, so Tubby gets an escape plan idea which Lulu finds absurd at first. Eddie and Willie go into the tunnel near the school, which will guide them to the bottom of the detention room, and they can get Arlen out after they lift the floorboards up. However, they fall down a hole in the sewer, which takes them to a beach. Tubby gets another plan. He hooks a chain to the window and to a truck at the school, so when the car drives off the window comes off, but all it does is crash the car.
Lulu now comes up with the plan and opens a hatch outside that takes them into the vent, and the team crawls in to find the room. It starts to get hot though when the heater comes on, and they lose Iggy when he opens an opening thinking it is the detention room, but it takes him to the dumpster. They get to an opening and tie Annie to a rope, and she goes down, but the room they found is the teacher's lounge where Miss Feeny is in. The rope breaks though, resulting in Annie to be stuck down there. Finally, they get above the detention room, when Miss Feeny lets him out early. The two fall down, and now are stuck in detention. Arlen meanwhile, has to battle the whole hockey team himself.
