The Spa is the 34th episode of the series George and Martha that aired on February 27, 2000. It's sister episode is The Roller Derby.
Summary[]
George arrives at Martha's house ready for tennis, but Martha tries explaining something. George gets out other sports, until Martha says that they spend the day from each other, particularly as she's going to a spa with massages and mudbaths. George wants to go, but Martha still thinks they should spend the time apart. When Martha leaves, George is happy that he can do all the things he wanted to do without her.
Martha gets to the spa, where Penny questions the whereabouts of George as they always did everything together. Martha tells her that they are going to spend the day apart, there had been no arguments which Penny finds a relief. She pushes Martha along to get manicures. Meanwhile, George plays jai alai with himself, swinging the ball to his house wall until it hits him. George wonders if Martha is having fun, and goes to the spa. He rings the front desk bell and meets Eton. He tells him the spa rules, such as no males allowed on the premises, therefore George gets kicked out.
George thinks this is a silly rule, and sneaks to the back door, but he encounters Eton again. Then George climbs up a tree and goes up to the window, where he finds Eton again. George disguises as a female and gets access to the manicure room. George introduces himself to Martha as Georgette, who says that she looks awfully familiar. She introduces Georgette to Penny, and gets up to get a facial. Noella, a bird who’s the owner of the spa, enters the room. She sees George's nails and shows her some nail polishes with fruit colors. Penny chooses "Orange Sunrise" as she says it matches George's golden tooth.
Later, George and Penny briefly fight about who sits next to Martha, so she sits in the middle seat so both can sit next to her. Noella introduces facials with her own cream, and after that, she announces lunch with her low-cal potato salad. George starts snacking the facial cream, so Noella uses her potato salad after Martha claims it makes a good cream. Martha, who’s now aware of George's disguise, tells Georgette that she'd like a massage from a gorilla. The gorilla lures him in and can be heard beating George up. George enters the mudbath room and wants to get in, but he’s told to take his robe off as bathing suits are allowed only. George fetches the lamp and unveils his created bathing suit. Penny starts to Martha that spending too much time with only one friend isn't such a good thing, resulting in George to throw a piece of mud at Martha's face who couldn't agree more. A mud free-for-all occurs shortly, but it’s stopped by Eton after he finds George's hat, and also recognizes George. George later naps in his backyard, when Martha comes and mentions how great it was at the spa, in fact, she's recharged to play jai alai. But George isn't willing to as his muscles hurt, and he's also learned his lesson on letting friends have their private time.
